Qualified Tap and Jazz dancers will be invited to join a line. Dancers may also choose to audition for a higher level Line. As part of the audition, dancers are evaluated, by guest judges and faculty, in six (6) categories:

  • Musicality
  • Performance Quality
  • Style
  • Clarity
  • Quick Study or Recall

Auditions will determine the best placement on one of our four Lines based on age and skill level.

Participation in our Lines is an honor and gives students extra opportunity to practice their performance technique. Each Line performs a piece in our June Showcases, where dancers are recognized for their achievement.

Separate rehearsals are required; the rehearsal schedule will be included with the invitation letter. Additional tuition and costume fees apply. Students are required to sign a Commitment Contract.

Requirements

  • You must be currently enrolled in the matching technique class at Center Stage.
  • Rehearsals begin in February or March; Regular attendance is required. (Line members are allowed one excused absence.)
  • Line dancers are expected to participate in all assigned June showcases.
